Fathom LV: a responsive, fun sea kayak from £1500

Image: Eddyline Fathom LV Image: Eddyline Fathom LV

The FathomLV is a scaled down version of the Fathom, intended for the smaller framed paddler. This sporty kayak retains all the delightful handling and efficiency of its parent, but is lighter and even more nimble.

The FathomLV still has comfortable leg and foot room for even the medium sized paddler and its curved foredeck eliminates hand or deck bumping whether you have a high or low angle paddling style. This kayak is quick to accelerate, glides forever, turns on a sixpence and with the skeg down, will track on a rail. One of the most versatile kayaks in the Eddyline line. It must be paddled to be fully appreciated.

Construction

Image: Eddyline kayaksEddyline products are constructed of Carbonite 2000, a unique, tough material that is used in the aircraft industry. It looks and performs like fibreglass, but is infact, a thermoformed trilaminate of ABS plastics and acrylic. Carbonite 2000’s superior characteristics give dimensional stability and increased stiffness. It is of lighter weight, UV resistant and has a hard, glossy finish with excellent abrasion and impact resistance. It is easily repairable and 100% recyclable.
