The Romany S - it loves to surf!
S is for Surf, which this boat, with its flatter hull, absolutely loves! The kayak has an extra wide keyhole cockpit and has more volume in the rear compartments than the Romany Standard. With a hull design which offers maximum support and a shaped foredeck which allows for large feet up to size 11/12, the Romany S also suits the larger/taller paddler.
The Romany S has boxy rails and a flattish hull, offering good stability and handling when surfing or in a following sea. It has more volume in the rear compartments than the standard Romany, while keeping the classic low back deck to facilitate an easy layback roll.
The kayak is designed to fit kayakers from approx 5’4” to 6’4” tall, with a wide keyhole cockpit and a shaped foredeck which allows for large feet up to size 11/12.
Like all SKUK kayaks, the Romany S has a Kari-Tek skeg, decklines with recessed fittings, three hatches, waterproof internal bulkheads and includes a compass recess.

SKUK kayaks are fitted with a skeg which counteracts the kayak’s tendency to turn towards the wind - to weather-cock. SKUK’s skeg systems, developed in conjunction with Kari-Tek, use a robust skeg box made from durable ABS plastic. It’s moulded in one piece, making it watertight, and it has a large dagger-board shaped blade which drops further into the water thus increasing performance.
